Cookies and similar technologies: what we use and what partners use

tours.torino.it pages use only strictly necessary storage and no advertising or profiling cookies. The only third-party technologies are the GetYourGuide and Tiqets booking widgets, which load only when you scroll them into view and set cookies under their own rules.

On our pages: strictly necessary storage only

tours.torino.it is a static site: no accounts, newsletter, comments or advertising. Our pages may use only strictly necessary technical storage, for instance to remember the language you chose between Italian and English. This kind of storage needs no consent and is not used to follow you across sites.

We do not use Google Analytics, advertising pixels or profiling tools: the statistics we need come from server logs, described in the privacy notice. That is why you will not see a consent banner on our pages.

GetYourGuide and Tiqets booking widgets: loaded only when scrolled into view

On some pages, for example the Egyptian Museum, the Reggia di Venaria or the Torino+Piemonte Card, we embed a partner booking widget to show current availability and prices. The widget does not start with the page: it loads only when you scroll it into view, so anyone reading just the top of the page contacts no external server.

Once loaded, GetYourGuide or Tiqets may set their own cookies for session, currency, language and attribution of the booking to our site. Those cookies are governed by the partners' notices, not ours; if you block them, the widget may not show prices, but the booking buttons keep working.

Affiliate parameters on partner sites

When you click a booking button you land directly on the partner's site with our partner code in the URL, under the tourstorino campaign. The parameter tells the partner where the click came from and lets it pay us a commission, with no mark-up for you. The partner may store that origin in a cookie for a period: this is the mechanism that attributes the purchase even if you return a few days later.

GetYourGuide, Tiqets and Headout show their own consent banner and apply their own rules to cookies, payments and accounts. Who we are and how we work with partners is explained on the about page.

How to control cookies in your browser

Every browser lets you view, delete and block cookies per site. In Chrome and Edge the controls are under Settings, privacy and security, where you can also block third-party cookies; in Firefox under privacy and security with tracking protection; in Safari under preferences, privacy. On phones the paths are similar within the app settings.

Blocking everything does not stop you reading tours.torino.it, but it may stop partner widgets from loading prices and the partner from attributing your booking. For questions write to info@tours.torino.it.

FAQ

Does the site need cookies or a consent banner to show pages?

No. The pages are static and use at most strictly necessary technical storage (for example to remember your language), which by law needs no consent. We set no advertising, behavioural analytics or profiling cookies.

What do the GetYourGuide and Tiqets widgets do?

On some pages, such as the Egyptian Museum or the Torino+Piemonte Card, we embed a partner booking widget. It loads only when you scroll it into view: before that no external server is contacted. Once loaded, the partner may set its own cookies for session, currency, language and affiliate attribution.

What happens when I click a booking button?

The link takes you directly to the partner's site with our partner code in the URL (tourstorino campaign); we do not record the click. From then on cookies, consent and payments are handled by GetYourGuide, Tiqets or Headout, which show their own banner and notice.

How can I limit or delete cookies?

In your browser settings: Chrome, Firefox, Safari and Edge let you view, delete or block cookies per site and turn on third-party cookie blocking. Blocking partner cookies does not stop you reading our pages, but it may stop the widget working or prevent the partner from attributing the booking correctly.
